Aker Solutions provides oilfield products, systems and services for customers in the oil and gas industry world-wide. The company's knowledge and technologies span from reservoir to production and through the life of a field.
Aker Solutions brings together engineering and technologies for oil and gas drilling, field development and production. The company employs approximately 28 000 people in more than 30 countries. We apply the knowledge and create and use technologies that deliver our customers' solutions.
Aker Solutions ASA is the parent company in the group, which consists of a number of separate legal entities. Aker Solutions is used as the common brand and trademark for most of these entities. In 2012 Aker Solutions had aggregated annual revenues of approximately NOK 45 billion. The company is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
Aker Solutions has been present in Malaysia since 1988. Malaysia became the regional operation headquarters (OHQ) for Asia Pacific in 2006, overseeing the operation of 15 locations in the region. Our main office is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, which is also home to approximately 400 strong engineers that serve as one of the engineering talent pools for the group across the globe. As a regional OHQ, Malaysia also provides management support such as HR, finance, quality, HSE and IT services within the group.
Aker Solutions has a subsea manufacturing centre in Port Klang, occupying a land area of more than 220,000 square metres. This facility is the first of its kind in the world that can produce a complete subsea production system in one location. Apart from that, the company also has a service base in Labuan that provides support to current and future deepwater projects in Asia Pacific.
Some of the deliverables managed out of Malaysia are feasibility studies, front-end and detailed engineering (including shallow water field developments), subsea production systems, manifolds, tie-in equipment, control modules, surface actuators, process modules, well intervention support services and engineering services for subsea umbilicals.
